We were asked to design the 2016-2017 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) report for University College Dublin, this was the second consecutive year that we designed the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) report for the University College Dublin. You can view the 2015-2016 report design here.
The report includes information on employee and student population. A lot of this information was percentage and number based, this allowed us to design creative, informative infographics, pie charts and bar graphs to communicate the data in a quick and easy manner. The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) report promotes a culture of dignity, respect and wellbeing, whilst simultaneously raising awareness among the community of UCD on a wide range of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) issues. These points were highlighted and given impact through the use of large, vibrant imagery and colourful sharp graphics. The information in the report on the Gender Equality Action Group included their gender identity policy and procedure. This information was laid out in an interesting, yet organized style which allows the reader to easily take in and retain the messages being portrayed throughout the report.
The main goal of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) report for University College Dublin was to raise the profile and expectations of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) activities on the UCD campus as well as the capacity for external engagement with government and public agents. The report contains a flavour of the developments that have taken place over the past year, as well as the exciting and ambitious plan UCD have for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the year ahead.
To increase the quality of user interaction (UI) with the booklet, we decided to include a perfect bind spine in to the design. In order to do this, we needed to increase the page count of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) report. This allowed us to increase the size of imagery, hence leading to a more impacting visual and innovative graphic design.
The growing diversity within the University College Dublin is a huge asset to them. The promotion of equality and the celebration of diversity requires UCD to constantly review and renew its commitments to creating an inclusive campus environment. We at AKGraphics were delighted to help in assisting with this by designing the 2016-2017 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) report.
