Dr. Catherine Halbert, of Halbert Research, approached AKGraphics to design a new visual identity which would represent the business in a full suite of new stationery items and would also integrate with the existing website. The second phase of the design process was for all internal documents to be redesigned (e.g. internal application forms, supplier forms, booking information, workshops, promotional material etc., would be PDFs and/or interactive PDFs). The third phase is to review all internal powerpoint presentations and point of sale promotional material etc.
Before AKGraphics begins any new design project we fully research the business/ business model and its direct competitors. This allows us to fully understand our client and their business environment. For Halbert Research we focused on their full range of services, how they currently promote themselves to new businesses, and how they communicate to both their existing and prospective customers.
Clearly, initial meetings are vital at the start of any new visual identity development. It ensures that we fully understand the new direction and role that Halbert Research wants to take with such a long term investment. From gathering all existing printed and internal material and looking at the overall picture, AKGraphics can highlight the issues and explain to Halbert Research what can be done within the budget quoted.
With any new visual identity, AKGraphics will usually present three different design concepts in PDF format first. This is based on the written design brief created from the above meetings and detailed discussions with our client. It is key to AKGraphics to get at least one of these new visual identities very close to the written design brief, otherwise our time and the client’s time would be wasted. Obviously client feedback and comments are crucial from this first design presentation, enabling us to proceed to the next design stage where we focus on the chosen option. For Halbert Research, we also looked at how this could be applied across the company’s various different business platforms.
Upon written approval of the new chosen visual identity for Halbert Research, AKGraphics will now prepare all design items, as per quotation for print and internal use, and also a PDF brand guideline.

In addition, the stationery required consisted of A4 Letterhead, DL Compliment Slip, Double Sided Business Cards, and a PDF brand guideline.
We are extremely happy with the creativity, professional approach and hands-on service from AKGraphics. We set out looking for a new logo, and progressed to a full re-branding of Halbert Research, across our website, flyers, workshop packs, PowerPoint templates, stationery, and business cards. We now have a distinctive image, which is consistent throughout our business, thanks to Anne and her team at AKGraphics’.
